In June, Lohita Rajesh presented her work at the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP) Conference, hosted by Northeastern University, in Boston, Massachusetts .

Her presentation was titled “Effect of wavelength and irradiance on photodegradation of dibromoacetonitrile (DBAN) using UV-C LEDs”. She explained how engineering decisions influence the photodegradation of DBAN, a toxic disinfection by-product prevalent in drinking water systems. Her travel was supported by both the AEESP travel grant and Civil and Environmental Engineering department at UMass Amherst travel grant.
