A new paper, published in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, highlights the work of Shane Hancox, in collaboration with groups from Caltech and Stanford, investigating novel mixed metal oxide materials for decentralized chlorine evolution. The study showcases the high efficiency of crystalline cobalt antimonate materials, which eliminate platinum group metals used for conventional chlor-alkali processes. This study provides a foundation for the use of new, cheaper and easier to fabricate materials, when compared to standard mixed-metal oxide electrode materials.
